FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton Athletics will induct the 2025 Hall of Fame Class on Thursday, Nov. 6 at the Embassy Suites in Brea. Leading up to the event we will unveil each of our prestigious honorees on FullertonTitans.com. Today we honor Karilyn Burdick-Greenwood from women's gymnastics.
Burdick-Greenwood Became the first Fullerton gymnast to win an individual championship in 1977 as the national collegiate gymnastics vaulting champion. She later helped lead the Titans to a team national championship in 1979, scoring a 9.2 on the floor exercise to clinch the title over Penn State.Â
In three years at Cal State Fullerton, Burdick-Greenwood was a three-time All-American (1977-79). She was a two-time WAIAW Regional Championship and a three-time SCWIAC Conference Champion.Â
After finishing second in the all-around competition at the National Championships, Burdick-Greenwood was invited to represent the United States in Romania in 1978 where she won a bronze medal on the uneven bars. Following her strong showing at the international competition, Burdick-Greenwood was selected by GLAMOUR magazine as one of the Top Ten College Women of the Year.
