IRVINE, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton freshman Genevieve Zeidan improved her winning streak in singles to 12 straight as she captured her first career Big West Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week honor.
Zeidan leads the Titans with a 13-1 dual singles record as she went 3-0 last week. She won twice at No. 2 singles, dominating Toledo's Sidnay Huck (6-1, 6-0) and Boston University's Remi Ramos (6-1, 6-2). Moving up to No. 1, she took care of Utah State's Sasha Pisareva (6-3, 6-3) to give the Titans a 4-2 team win.
She teamed with Masako Makiba to go 2-0 at No. 2 doubles, including a 7-5 win over the Terrier duo. The doubles tandem currently holds an overall record of 11-3.
Fullerton is on the road this week as they look to take on Pacific at Hawai'i, Wednesday at 2 p.m. PT.
