DAVIS, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton (32-16, 12-3 Big West) took the series finale 5-1 against UC Davis (36-10, 10-5 Big West) in Sunday's matinee.
The Aggies struck first this time around with a run in the bottom of the first, but starting pitcher Taylor Dockins would settle in nicely after that retiring the next eight hitters. The right-hander would finish with three innings of work, allowing just one run on two hits while striking out a pair.
Dani Martinez would take over in the circle for Fullerton in the fourth and continue the string of dominance retiring all 12 Aggies she faced.
On the offensive side of things, Daisy Munoz got the Titans on the board in the fourth inning with her sixth home run of the season. The three-run shot put Fullerton out in front and they never looked back.
Ari Williams would pad some insurance on to the lead with a two-RBI single in the fifth to make it a 5-1 ballgame.
With the victory, Fullerton has now won 12 straight Big West series and 23 of their last 26. It also keeps the Titans in sole possession of first place in the Big West standings with six games remaining.
Cal State Fullerton is back in action hosting Cal Poly next weekend at Anderson Family Field.
