FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton (19-10) sent 11 batters to the plate for an eight-run fourth inning to run-rule Dartmouth, 9-1, in five innings Wednesday night.
Sophie Frost got the start in the circle and surrendered a first inning home run to the Big Green, but settled in shutting down the Dartmouth offense for the next three innings.
The Titan offense stranded three runners in scoring position with less than two outs in the first two frames, but would get on the board in the third courtesy of a Daisy Munoz RBI single.
Fullerton would proceed to blow the game wide open in the bottom of the fourth plating eight runs after sending 11 batters to the plate. The scoring started with Zoe Richard coming through with a pinch hit double to plate the first run of the inning and a hit parade would begin two batters later.
Seven straight Titans would reach base on six hits and a walk would lead to seven runs with one out in the frame putting the run-rule into play.
Taylor Dockins would enter the circle and record the final three outs of the game to secure the 9-1, five inning victory.
Daisy Munoz: 2-for-3, 2B, 2RBI, R, extended her hit streak to 7-straight games
