FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton fell to the Japan National Team in their exhibition game on Monday night.
The Titans managed three hits against the Japan pitching staff as Zoe Richard had a first inning single and Kelsie Whitmore had a third inning leadoff double. Freshman Kiana Parrish recorded the final Titan hit with a fourth inning single.
Japan took the early lead with three runs in the top of the first as the Titans made two errors in the inning.
Fullerton responded in the bottom half with a run on a past ball as Evelyn Sablan came in to score. The Titans almost scored a second run, but Ari Williams was cut down at the plate for the first out of the inning.
After that Japan dominated the rest of the game as the game ended in a run-rule in five innings.
The Titans will be back in action returning to their regular non-conference schedule as they host the Judi Garman Classic this weekend. Their first game of the tourney will be on Thursday at 2:30 against No. 17 Oregon.
