LOS ANGELES - Cal State Fullerton women's soccer fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday at USC by a score of 5-1. Penelope Hocking of USC scored four goals to lead the Women of Troy to victory.

USC (15-4-1) took the lead just two minutes into the second half as their pressure forced a turnover and Alea Hyatt crossed the ball right across the face of the goal, Natalie Jacobs touched it on and Hocking was there to tap it in at the 47:33 mark.

The same Trojan duo linked up once again in the 59th minute as Hyatt crossed the ball from the right wing to the back post and Hocking was there to tap it in.

Hocking then completed the hat trick with another assist from Hyatt in the 64th to push the lead to 3-0.

Senior Atlanta Primus, the 2019 Big West Midfielder of the Year, scored her 12th goal of the season at the 71:15 mark to pull one back for the Titans. She found space behind the defense and had her initial shot saved but stuck with it and buried the rebound.

USC scored two more goals from Savianna Gomez (79th) and Hocking (82nd).

The Trojans out-shot the Titans (14-3-4) 7-1 in the first half inlcuding a shot that hit the crossbar and two well-taken free kicks that redshirt freshman goalkeeper Noa Schumacher did well to save. Senior forward Maddie Bennett had the lone shot for the Titans but it was blocked by a Trojan defender.

It was a special year for the Titans as they posted a school-record 16-match unbeaten streak, winning the Big West regular season title and Big West Tournament title.
