SEATTLE – Cal State Fullerton women's soccer picked up a draw on Sunday afternoon at Seattle to move to 1-2-1 on the year. After allowing an early goal, junior Dani Baldwin scored her first goal as a Titan to tie the match at one, which would ultimately be the final score of the game.
Seattle's Leahi Manthei was breaking up the left wing and crossed the ball into the center of the 18-yard box where Jessie Ray connected with her head to give the Redhawks a 1-0 lead at the 6:01 mark of the 1st half.
Baldwin then equalized for the Titans in the 32nd minute off a cross by Alyssa Shelton from the left wing. Baldwin controlled the ball wonderfully in the 18-yard box and then calmly slotted the ball by the Redhawk goalkeeper for her first-career goal as a Titan to tie the game at one.
Seattle drew a penalty kick in the 69th minute with a chance to take the lead but sophomore goalkeeper Tianna Sanders dove right and easily made the save on the low shot from Brianna Robles. Sanders finished the match with four saves.
Fullerton had 11 shots, four of which were on target, and earned six corner kicks. Seattle had 17 shots, five on target, and earned nine corners.
The Titans return to Titan Stadium on Friday for a match against Auburn at 7:30 p.m. PT. Then on Sunday, Sept. 2, CSF hosts Fresno State with a kickoff time of 4 p.m.
