STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – Junior Martina Edberg finds herself atop the individual leaderboard Tuesday after surging into the lead in round two of the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate hosted by Georgia State University at the Eagle's Landing Country Club.
Edberg currently leads the 84-player field after posting a 2-under 70 in the second round Monday, putting her at 2-under for the tournament with a total score of 142 with 18 holes left to play. Edberg holds a one-stroke lead over day-one co-leader Kelsey Badmaev of Elon, who sits at 1-under par after posting an even round of 72 on Monday. They are the only two players with scores under par as Western Michigan's Claire Hernandez and Sydney Snodgrass of UAB sit in a tie for third place with a 1-over 145.
As for the Titans, the team slipped a couple of spots in the team standings after round two as Fullerton sits in seventh place at 30-over after posting a 17-over 305 on Monday. The Titans are 16 strokes back of first-place Elon.
Freshman Pauline Welker is tied for 21st place after posting a 6-over 78 on Monday, putting her at a 7-over 151 through 36 holes.
Brittney Sok and Felicia Medalla round out the Titans team scoring as both sit in a tie for 42nd place after finishing the first 36 holes with a 13-over 157. Sok posted a 6-over 78 on Monday, improving on her first-round score by a stroke. Medalla was 8-over with an 80 on Monday.
Nadine Rivera improved on her opening round performance after she posted a 7-over 79, four strokes better than her Sunday score. She is currently tied for 63rd overall.
Edberg will look to secure her second win of the 2015-16 season and fifth of her career Tuesday as the players return to the links at 8:30 a.m. ET/5:30 a.m. PT for the final round of the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate.
