FULLERTON, Calif. – Casandra Renno, who had been one of the assistant coaches of the women's basketball program for the last two years, has accepted a position as the head women's basketball coach at Cal State San Bernardino.

"Anytime you lose an assistant it's tough, but I am beyond excited and happy for Casandra," said head coach Jeff Harada. "CSUSB made a great hire and the fit couldn't be any more perfect. She's been great during her time here and I'm looking forward to seeing her doing big things for the Coyotes."

Renno played a huge part in what has been a tremendous turnaround for the Fullerton women's basketball program. She helped lead the Titans to 22 wins in her two seasons, the highest win total in a two-year period in since 2013-15. The team's 14 wins last season marks the best year since 2009-10 as they made their first Big West Tournament appearance in four seasons.

Renno was responsible for the guards in her two years and they flourished under her leadership. In her first year, they averaged a combined 20.4 points per game to go along with 6.0 assists per game. They also had a 1.3 assist/turnover ratio in their 29 games. Jade Vega led the way for Renno's group averaging 10.7 points per game and 3.8 assists per game, which ranked fifth in the Big West Conference.

This past season was an even bigger improvement as her guards averaged 23.8 points per game to go along with 9.8 assists per game. Redshirt sophomore Raina Perez led the group with 13.0 ppg and 5.0 apg while Vega was not far behind her with 9.9 ppg and 4.2 apg.

It will be a return to the NCAA Division II scene for Renno after spending three years at Cal State Los Angeles prior to joining the Titans.
