HONOLULU, Hawaii - Cal State Fullerton (13-14) fell 55-70 to the Rainbow Wahine on Saturday night giving the Titans a season split with Hawaii.
Daeja Smith put up a game-high 22 points on 9-13 shooting to go along with a team-high six rebounds. It marks her fourth 20-point performance of the season. Raina Perez was the only other Titan in double-figures with 11 points and a team-high three assists.
Fullerton came out and took the early lead thanks to eight first quarter points from Smith as she led the Titans to 14-13 lead after the first quarter.
However, the second quarter was all Rainbow Wahine. The Titans went cold in the second shooting just 27.3% from the field while Hawaii shot a blistering 71.4%. For the quarter, Fullerton was outscored 9-22 and were on the wrong end of a 9-0 scoring run to end the half.
Coming out of the break, the Titans started cutting into the deficit outscoring Hawaii 20-14 making it a two possession game.
The fourth quarter was similar to the second as Fullerton shot under 30% as the Rainbow Wahine locked up the victory.
Cal State Fullerton will play their final two games of the season next week starting at Long Beach State on Thursday. Tip-off will be at 7:00 p.m.
