FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer scored a late goal in regulation to force overtime and earn a 1-1 draw against No. 24 Loyola Marymount Sunday night to remain undefeated with a record of 8-0-1.
Down a man late in the second half with time running out on the Titans, Clayton Torr came up clutch with his first goal of the season on a corner kick from Christian Pinzon in the 83rd minute to tie the game at 1-1.
The Titans played the final 33 minutes of action with 10 men on the field due to a red card in the second half and were still able to hang on for a draw against a top ranked team in the country.
For Pinzon it is his seventh assist of the season, which ranks second in the Big West Conference and tied for second in the country. Pinzon now has a team-high 17 points, ranking third in the conference.
Once again goalkeeper Paul-Andre Guerin had an outstanding performance to help earn the Titans a draw. Guerin had a season-high 10 saves in the match, including six in the second half and three in double overtime.
The Titans now head to the East Coast to face No. 20 James Madison Wednesday and defending National Champions Maryland on Saturday.
