DAVIS, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer fell 2-1 to UC Davis at Aggie Soccer Field Saturday afternoon.
The Titans (6-5-6) gave up an early goal in the first minute of play on a header off of a rebound. Andy Velasquez scored early on the give Davis the early 1-0 lead
Fullerton battled back as always, scoring in the 17th minute on a rocket shot from Samuel Goni from just inside the 18-yard box for his sixth of the season. Goni got the ball and dribbled around two defenders before firing a shot that went off of the goalkeeper and bounced into the the net.
Davis then scored in the 44th minute just before heading into the locker rooms at halftime on goal from Robert Mejia.
The Titans tried to battle back in the second half, getting off five shots with three of them on goal. Fullerton got off a total of 11 shots in the match to the Aggies 15. Paul-Andre Guerin recorded four saves on the afternoon, giving him 70 for the season.
