CHANDLER, Ariz. – Cal State Fullerton men's golf finished in second place in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic Tuesday afternoon at the Whirlwind Golf Club.
The Titans shot even par 288 on the final day of the tournament, finishing with a final score of 16-under par 848. Fullerton has finished in the top five in seven out of the nine tournament this season.
The Titans were defeated by the 39th ranked UCLA Bruins. The Titans began the third and final round in second place, but were unable to pass the Bruins.
The Titans had three players finish inside the top 20. Jack Dyer finished tied for 14th place individually with scores of 69, 71, and 71. Dyer finished the tournament with an overall score of 5-under par 211. Dyer's top 15 finish comes after being named the Big West golfer for the month of March.
UCLA beat the Titans by seven strokes, finishing 23-under for the tournament. Wyoming's John Murdock and UCLA's Cole Madey tied for first place individually with a score of 13 under-par 203.
Fullerton is back in action April 12, 13, and 14 at the El Macero Classic tournament in El Macero, California.
