San Luis Obispo, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's basketball extended their winning streak to four on Saturday night after an 80-63 victory at Cal Poly. For the third consecutive game the Titans had four or more players score in double figures. Senior guard Khalil Ahmad scored a game-high 18 points.
The Titans led for 37 minutes on Saturday night and although the Mustangs hung around for the majority of the game, it never felt in doubt. CSF shot 26-46 (56.5%) from the field, including a blistering 15-23 (65.2%) in the first half. The team also shot 26-35 (74.3%) from the free-throw line. Fullerton had 40 points in the paint and 20 second-chance points.
Ahmad tallied 18 points and lived at the charity stripe where he went 10-14. He also dished out two assists. Junior forward Jackson Rowe shot 7-8 from the field for 15 points and hauled in nine rebounds to go along with one assist and one block. Senior guard Kyle Allman, Jr. scored 14 points and chipped in four rebounds and a career-high four blocks. Junior guard Austen Awosika had a balanced line of 11 points, three rebounds and four assists.
Fullerton returns to Titan Gym on Wednesday to play CSUN at 7 p.m. PT on ESPN3.
