Conway, S.C. – Cal State Fullerton men's basketball dropped its second game of the Myrtle Beach Invitational with a 66-59 loss to Wake Forest on Friday morning. Senior guard Khalil Ahmad led the team in scoring with 20 points.
The game was tied at 51 with 4:52 left in the second half and from that point the Demon Deacons ended the game on a 15-8 run, including a 10-0 run to take a 61-51 lead. Until that point it was a back and forth game with the Titans leading for 17:02 overall.
CSF struggled shooting once again as it went 21-56 (37.5%) from the floor and 7-26 (26.9%) from beyond the arc. CSF did shoot well from the free-throw line at 10-12 (83.3%).
Ahmad scored 20 points on 8-18 shooting to go along with three rebounds, two assists and a steal. Junior forward Davon Clare just missed a double-double as he had 10 points (4-7 FGA) and nine rebounds with a block. Senior guard Kyle Allman, Jr. struggled shooting (4-15 FGA) but was still productive as he had 11 points, five rebounds, one steal and tied a career-high eight assists. Junior forward Jackson Rowe pitched in eight points and six rebounds with a block and a steal.
Fullerton returns to action on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. PT against a team that has yet to be determined.
