Titans Drop Game One to CSUN on the Road

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton (25-26, 11-11) dropped the first game in the final series of the year to CSUN (23-30, 9-13) on a walk-off passed ball to lose by a score of 1-0 Thursday afternoon.

Timothy Josten had another strong outing on the mound for the Titans as he pitched seven innings, giving up just two hits while not allowing any runs and striking out five batters. Josten has given up only three runs in his last five appearances. After he got in his groove he was untouchable, retiring the final 13 batters he faced.

Mitchell Berryhill went 2-for-4 on the day to raise his batting average for the season to .416 which would leave him with the fifth highest batting average in a single season in the history of the program.

AJ Curtis also went 2-for-4 at the plate Thursday and is now hitting .322 on the year and an impressive .373 in Big West Conference play.

Fullerton returns to Matador Baseball Field Friday afternoon looking to win the final two games of the series and finish the year with a winning record. First pitch Friday is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. PT.
