D1 Baseball Release

FULLERTON, Calif. – As the team and coaching staff prepares for the MLB4 Tournament beginning Friday in Arizona, D1 Baseball.com has picked the Titans to repeat as Big West Conference Champions.

With a few key pieces gone from last season, the Titans look to their senior in Jake Pavletich, Hank LoForte and Mitchell Berryhill to lead this team. Berryhill and LoForte led the team in hitting last year with with a .295 and .339 average, respectively.

While the Titans are always consistent at the plate, they are even better in the field. Along with Berryhill and LoForte the Titans return first baseman as previously mentioned, Pavletich along with shortstop Sahid Valenzuela and third baseman Brett Borgogno.

LoForte and Valenzuela combined to make two of the top middle infielders in the country. In fact, LoForte is ranked as the No. 14th second baseman in the country according to D1 Baseball.com

Fullerton did lose a few key arms from last year's team, however, the Titans have nothing but confidence in sophomores Tanner Bibee and Timothy Josten along with freshman Michael Knorr, Joe Magrisi and redshirt freshman Evan Larsen.

Along with the aforementioned Knorr and Magrisi, the Titans look to a few other freshman to help them get to where they belong. Kameron Guangorena has done nothing but open eyes leading up to the 2019 season with impressive plate discipline and power.

Corner outfielder Jason Brandow projects to hit for serious raw power and shows an above-average arm and solid speed for his 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame. Both Guangorena and Brandow were drafted out of high school but chose to join in the Titans.

The Titans open the 2019 season Friday against No. 19 TCU at the MLB4 Tournament in Scottsdale, Ariz. Fullerton then wraps up the weekend against No. 1 Vanderbilt on Saturday and Virginia on Sunday.
