FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton women's indoor track and field team is sending 21 student-athletes to compete at the CU Invitational this weekend in Boulder, Colo. Competition begins on Friday at 8 a.m. PT and Saturday at 10 a.m.
Along with the host Colorado Buffaloes, the Titans will compete against other top teams in the West.
Last week at the UW Invitational, the quartet of Alyssa Block (1,200 meters), Karyn Best (400 meters), Sandra Flores (800 meters) and Trinity Ruelas (mile) clocked a school-record time of 12:03.57 in the women's distance medley relay. They bested the previous record of 12:05.41 set in 2017.
With the 2019 season underway, cross country and track and field head coach John Elders enters his 31st season at the helm of each program making him the longest tenured head coach in the history of Cal State Fullerton. Cal State Fullerton won the 2017 Big West Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the first conference title in program history, then repeated that feat in 2018 to become back-to-back champions.
