FULLERTON, Calif. - Six student-athletes on the Cal State Fullerton women's indoor track and field team heads to Seattle for the UW Invitational this weekend. Competition begins on Friday at 4 p.m. PT while Saturday's slate kicks off at 10 a.m. PT.
Along with the host Washington Huskies, the Titans will compete against teams such as Arizona State, BYU, California, Stanford, Washington State, Hawai'i, UC Santa Barbara,
Lucina Vincent will run the in the 5,000-meter race at 4:50 p.m. PT on Friday, making her collegiate debut on the track. Tammy Vien is entered in the 60-meter hurdles (Friday at 4 p.m. PT) and the 60-meter dash (Saturday at 11:45 a.m. PT) to make her season debut.
Kelsey Carroll, Alyssa Block, Sandra Flores and Trinity Ruelas make up the quartet of Titans that will compete in the distance medley relay at 7:45 p.m. PT on Friday. Block and Carroll are making their collegiate debuts while Flores and Ruelas ran the DMR for the Titans at the 2018 UW Invitational.
As the 2019 season gets underway, cross country and track and field head coach John Elders enters his 31st season at the helm of each program making him the longest tenured head coach in the history of Cal State Fullerton. Cal State Fullerton won the 2017 Big West Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the first conference title in program history, then repeated that feat in 2018 to become back-to-back champions.
