Albuquerque, N.M. – Cal State Fullerton women's track and field kicked off the 2019 indoor season at the Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational on Friday night at the Albuquerque Convention Center. Day two of the competition begins at 8:30 a.m. PT.
Mia Franco won the women's 400 meters with a personal-best time of 58.11, while freshmen Karyn Best (59.46) and Ku'ulei Moku (61.72) took sixth and 11th place, respectively. In the women's 200 meters, Hailey Murdica was the top Titan finisher in her first collegiate race with a time of 25.54. Kiana Clay and Tatiana Bell were right behind her with times of 25.64 and 25.65, respectively.
In her first collegiate indoor meet, Sinai Fatafehi earned a ninth-place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 52-2 (15.90m). Bertha Sola took 13th place in the event with a personal-best mark of 49-6.50 (15.10m).
Kyra Anderson was the top Titan in the women's long jump with a mark of 18-1.5 (5.52m), besting her previous personal record of 17-2.25.
Alexis Vincent-Walker made her collegiate debut and tied for fourth place in the high jump with a clearance of 5-5.25 (1.66m).
