Dr. Meredith Basil currently serves as the Associate Director of Athletics, Senior Woman Administrator and Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Athletics at California State University, Fullerton. In these roles, Dr. Basil’s responsibilities include oversight of Athletics Academic Services (Academic Counseling and Advisement, DEGREE, SAAC, Life Skills Programming, Early Warning, Fullerton Athletics Career Expo, UNIV-115, the Faculty Mentor Program and UNIV-115) sports supervision, sports performance and the Drug Education, Testing and Treatment Program.
In addition, Dr. Basil serves as the liaison for Housing and Residential Life, Student Conduct, the Dean of Students, Admissions, Records and New Student Programs. She also serves as the Chair of the Athletics Equity Committee and a member of the following: Student-Athlete Behavior Intervention Team, Academic Senate, Clery Compliance Team, Coordinated Community Response Team, Athletics Advisory Council, WASC Student Success Subcommittee, Academic Advisement Professional Development Committee and the Athletics Exceptions Committee. For the 2016-2017 academic year, Dr. Basil served as the Interim Associate Vice President for Student Affairs (Student Engagement), and also the Interim Associate Vice President for Student Affairs (Student Retention).
From June, 2010, to August, 2011, she served as Director of the Student-Athlete Academic Center at Florida International University (FIU), and the Director of Athletic Academic Services at CSUF from April, 2007, to May, 2010. Prior to these roles, she was the Coordinator of the Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes and head diving coach at her alma materAmerican University in Washington, DC.
Dr. Basil holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Psychology, and a PhD in Psychology: Behavior, Cognition and Neuroscience from American University.
