Fullerton, Calif. - Head Coach Carolyn Zimmerman announced Monday the signings of four incoming high school recruits that will join the Cal State Fullerton volleyball program next season.

"The coaching staff is extremely excited about the class of recruits for 2007," said the fifth-year head coach, "These young women are great people with promising futures."

Erin Saddler, a 6-foot-4 middle-blocker from Downey High School; Genie Francisco, a 5-foot-8 setter from Long Beach Wilson High School; Jonny Hart, a 5-foot-10 outside hitter from Alta Loma High School; and Sarah Day, a 5-foot-10 outside hitter at Edison High School in Huntington Beach, Calif. will all replace four vacant roster spots left by the Titans' four seniors.

"These girls are making an impact with their respective club programs and will bring that experience and excellence to the floor here at Cal State Fullerton," Zimmerman added.

"Erin is competing at the highest level in club with Mizuno LB, a 2006 Junior Olympic runner-up. She has tremendous size and athleticism and has the ability to play all three front row positions.

"Genie is a feisty competitor. She is a very athletic setter with an offensive mindset and has excellent defensive skills. She is also a teammate of Saddler's on the Mizuno club team.

"Jonny is an explosive hitter and tenacious defender who possesses a strong drive to work hard to reach her potential.

"Sarah is an all-around athlete who is a strong-blocking, right-side hitter with good hands.

Hart also plays with the Club West Volleyball program in LaVerne, Calif., the same program Recruiting Coordinator Traci Dahl will be coaching upon the conclusion of the season. Day plays additionally with the Golden West Volleyball Club in Anaheim.

The Cal State Fullerton volleyball program has enjoyed recent success, posting the best three seasons in its existence, and posting its first winning season in 10 years in 2006.

Zimmerman concluded, "the improvements we have made over the past few seasons have put the coaching staff in a great position for recruiting. We are very fortunate to have commitments from these four young players. They will be a great addition to our squad."
