Irvine, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton's Brittany Moore was named this week's Big West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday morning.
The senior led the Titans to a pair of Big West Conference road wins at UC Riverside and UC Irvine last weekend. She not only posted double-doubles in both matches, but notched back-to-back 20-plus kill efforts each night.
On Friday, Moore posted 21 kills and 21 digs as Fullerton needed all five sets to defeat the Highlanders and cease its three-match losing streak. The following night the outside hitter bested her previous match's kill numbers with a 25-kill performance to set her season-high in Irvine. The Orange, Calif., native also hit .328 on the night, scooped up 11 digs and also added three blocks (including a solo) to the Titans' defense.
In the two matches, Moore had 46 kills, 32 digs, and five blocks while hitting .299.
This marks Moore's third career Big West Player of the Week nod and first this season. She also becomes just the 10th Titan to ever garner the weekly award, and the second Titan this season, joining Erin Saddler.
Also announced Tuesday, Moore was listed as a CVU.com Top Performer, one of numerous finalists for the web site's national player of the week award.
