LET'S GET IT STARTED: The Titans try to snap a four-match losing streak this week and there are no easy assignments. Fullerton will host No. 5 UCLA on Wednesday night and then travel to the USD Tournament on the campus of the University of San Diego this weekend. There the Titans will face the host Toreros, Texas A&M and Southern Miss.

The Titans were winless in three straight matches last weekend at the UNLV Invitational, winning only one set against the host Rebels. Brittany Moore earned a spot on the all-tournament team, her second such honor in as many tourneys.

VS UCLA: The Bruins hold a 13-0 record against Cal State Fullerton dating back to 1980. The last time the two schools played on another, was back in 2002 at the Portland Invitational. The Titans lost in three straight sets. Before that, Fullerton had not faced UCLA prior to 1984, coincidentally the last time UCLA played in Titan Gym (UCLA won, 3-0).

VS SOUTHERN MISS: Cal State Fullerton has played Southern Miss once since 1980. They beat the Golden Eagles 3-0 to open the 1997 tournament season at Southern Miss on Aug. 29.

VS TEXAS A&M: The Titans and Aggies have split the all-time two-match series with one another dating back to 1981. Their last meeting came in 1993 when Texas A&M emerged victorious 3-0 at the Fresno State Tournament. In 1981, Fullerton won in two sets, 16-14, 15-12 at the Fifth Women's Collegiate Volleyball Tournament at San Diego State on Sept. 18.

VS SAN DIEGO: Fullerton has an all-time record of 8-15 against San Diego dating back to 1980. The last meeting between the two resulted in a three-set win for San Diego to close out the 2006 season. The loss also hindered the Titans from winning its 18th match of the year, which would have tied them for the best win total in school history.

MOORE ADDS ANOTHER ALL-TOURNEY HONOR: Moore collected 36 kills, two aces, 31 digs and eight blocks in three losses to No. 10 Wisconsin, UNLV and Miami of Ohio at the UNLV Invitational last weekend and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team. It is her second such honor in as many tournaments.

TOUGH SCHEDULE: The Titans will get a pair of nationally ranked opponents this week when they host No. 5 UCLA on Wednesday night and then travel to No. 20 San Diego for this weekend's USD Tournament. Those two are the latest of six teams on the Titans' docket listed in the AVCA top 25 poll. Also on the list: No. 4 Cal, No. 14 Wisconsin (lost on Sept. 6, 3-0), No. 16 Cal Poly and No. 22 Long Beach State. The Titans also played No. 24 Pepperdine during the opening weekend tournament when the Waves were just receiving votes. Fullerton fell to Pepperdine, 3-0.

QUICK HITS: &\#149; Fullerton has won just one set in its last 12 played against Pepperdine, Miami (OH), UNLV and Wisconsin. The only win came in set one of the UNLV match on Sept. 6.

&\#149; The Titans have not gone 2-4 to open a season since 2000 under Mary Ellen Murchison. They went 2-8 before their third win of the year.

&\#149; Freshman Sydney McDowell and Jennifer Edmond made their collegiate debuts last weekend in Las Vegas. McDowell was perfect with her one swing, picking up her first career kill and Edmond, with a little more time on the floor collected 15 on the weekend.

&\#149;In a rare non-conference similarity...the Cal State Fullerton baseball team will also play all four of this week's volleyball opponents on their upcoming 2009 schedule beginning in February. The Titan volleyball and baseball teams will each see UCLA, Southern Miss, Texas A&M and San Diego.
