Titans' Winning Streak Snapped at 3 Matches

Northridge, Calif. - Cal State Northridge's Casey Hinger hit .478 with a match-high 14 kills to lead the Matadors to a 3-0 sweep of Cal State Fullerton Saturday night at the Matadome, ending the Titans' modest three-match winning streak.
Leah Maurer was a standout for Fullerton collecting 11 kills with a.375 attack percentage in the 30-32, 21-25, 18-25 loss. Leah Best hit .538 and collected eight kills in 13 swings behind Maurer and added a team-high five blocks.
The Titans have traditionally struggled in the Matadome and fell to 3-13 all-time. They dropped to 8-8 on the year and 3-1 in Big West Conference play. Cal State Northridge improved to 8-7, 2-1.
Una Siljegovich (nine kills, .400) and Sam Kaul (six kills, .364) flanked Hinger's attack to help Northridge out-hit Fullerton .239 to .119. The Matadors also hit .300 and .405 in sets two and three after a sloppy first frame. The Titans never hit higher than .265 as a team.
Defensively both teams had a pair of players in double digits in digs. Northridge's Natalie Allen had a match-high 14 digs. Andrea Ragan had 13 for Fullerton. Ragan also scored a double-double, adding a match-high 35 assists.
Cal State Northridge out-blocked the Titans 9.5 to 6.0 behind 7 block assists by Hinger.
The Titans finished the week 1-1 and will have just one match at Long Beach State next weekend at the Pyramid in Long Beach. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
