Fullerton, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton's Erin Saddler earned her sixth double-double of the year and Kayla Neto had 12 kills and four blocks as the Titans downed Forham, 3-1, in the final match of the Embassy Suites Fullerton Classic at Titan Gym Saturday night.
The Titans, coming off a win over nationally-ranked UCLA on Friday night, improved to 9-3 on the year with the 25-16, 25-17, 20-25, 25-19 triumph and finished 2-0 in the tourney. Fordham was 0-3 in tournament play and fell to 8-7. Long Beach State also finished 2-0, while No. 7 UCLA finished 1-2, dropping games to the Titans and 49ers.
Saddler was named the tournament's most valuable player after collecting 16 kills and 10 digs, two aces and a block. Neto, a freshman, hit .455 with 12 kills and tied Fordham's Christi Griffiths with four blocks to lead all players. Brown had 10 kills and four digs in the Titans' third win in the last four matches.
The Titans jumped out to a two-set-to-none lead, never relinquishing the lead through the break.
