Wolnisty, Moore Not Enough; Titans Fall 3-2

San Diego, Calif. - A commanding game four Titan victory forced a game five, but seven errors by Cal State Fullerton in the deciding game handed San Diego State a 3-2 (26-30, 30-27, 30-25, 15-30, 15-12) victory in a non-conference volleyball match at Peterson Gym Tuesday night.

Fullerton evens its record at 5-5 heading into next week's Big West Conference opener at Titan Gym while San Diego State improves to 8-2 on the year.

Brittany Moore had her third straight match with 20-or-more kills, posting her third consecutive double-double in kills (20) and digs (21) in the losing effort. She also added three aces and four block assists. Alex Wolnisty capped the Titans' one-two punch with a career-high 18 kills and a whopping .720 attack percentage, tacking on 3 blocks in the losing effort.

Lindsey Mahan's 16 kills paced a trio of Aztecs with 10-or-more kills, while Aime Cordeiro scooped a staggering 44 digs for San Diego's fifth straight win. Lauren Salisbury led all players on the floor with five blocks at the net.

Fullerton's Sarah Day finished the night by collecting 16 kills with setter Julie Geissert adding a season-high 62 assists.

The Titans will now enjoy a much-needed 10-day break before the open of Big West Conference play on Sept. 21 at Titan Gym against UC Davis.
