Albuquerque, NM - The duo of Deven Bukoski and Brittany Moore led Cal State Fullerton to their second straight victory of the Comcast Lobo Tournament each collecting 10 kills apiece as the Titans swept UTEP, 3-0, in Albuquerque, NM, Saturday morning.
Fullerton improves to 7-1 on the year, only the third time in the school's history the team has captured seven wins in the first eight games. UTEP falls to 1-8.
The Titans took care of the Miners, 30-19, 30-26, 30-22, winning their fourth, fifth and sixth straight games of the tournament. This morning's sweep is the Titans' fourth 3-0 victory of 2006.
The Titans dominated at the net, collecting a season-high 14 total team blocks led by Moore and Amanda Pfielschiefter who each had five block assists. Breanna Trudeau and Julie Geissert each added three.
Offensively Fullerton hit .265 on the match compared to UTEP's .096 percentage. The Titans. Danielle Hitzeman led the Titans with a .381 attack percentage, picking up eight kills.
Christie Murphy posted 16 kills for the Miners to lead all players while teammate Elsa Reyes led with 30 digs. The Titan's Vanessa Vella had 22 digs and added a pair of service aces.
