Albuquerque, NM - Cal State Fullerton women's volleyball improved to 6-1 on the season by sweeping Dartmouth, 3-0, in the Titans' first game of the Comcast Lobo Volleyball Tournament at the University of New Mexico's Johnson Center Friday afternoon.
Behind 10 kills by freshman Deven Bukoski and five blocks (two solos) by Brittany Moore, the Titans handled The Big Green in three straight games, 30-12, 30-26, 30-19 in the two team's first-ever meeting.
Fullerton out-hit Dartmouth .270 to -.024, with strong attack percentages of .407 and .33 in the first and third games of the match.
Titan setter Julie Geissert added 3 block assists to Moore's totals as Fullerton out-blocked Dartmouth 7-3 as a team.
Jess Thomas was The Big Green's leading hitter, manufacturing 9 kills but just a -.028 attack percentage. Nadine Parris was best at the net for Dartmouth, taking part in a pair of block to lead the team.
Fullerotn will take on UTEP Saturday morning in Albuquerque, NM, in their second game of the tournament. First serve is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Fullerton will then return to the court to take on New Mexico in the tournament finale at 6 p.m.
