Titans Improve to 2-0 with Sweep of UNC Greensboro

Fullerton, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton improved to 2-0 behind a 15-kill, 11-dig, double-double performance by Brittany Moore as the Titans beat UNC Greensboro 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 26-22) Saturday afternoon at Titan Gym.

UNCG drops to 0-2 on the year with the sweep in Match 4 of the 2008 Radisson Suites Buena Park Volleyball Classic.

Moore hit .481 and had one of two Titan solo blocks in the victory. Deven Bukoski also finished in double digits in kills and hit .280 as Fullerton outhit the Spartans .295 to .157 on the match.

No Spartan collected double-digits in kills, but Billi Baker and Caley Redden led the Greensboro squad with five kills apiece.

UNCG did out-block Fullerton 6.5 to 3.0 as a team. Baker led all players with 3 block assists.

Cami Croteau led all players with 14 digs, with Moore and Genie Francisco each adding 11 to the defense. The Spartans' Catherine Hanners was the only visitor to reach double digits with 11.

Fullerton set the tone early by hitting .455 in the opening set behind four kills by Bukoski. UNCG battled back and played the Titans closer in the remaining two sets, forcing two match-point serves in set three.

The Titans will meet Pepperdine at 7 p.m. in the championship game of the Radisson Suites Buena Park tournament. Greensboro will return at 4:30 to face Delaware.

EARLIER IN THE DAY: Pepperdine (2-0) took care of Delaware 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-20) behind 21 kills and a .514 attack percentage by Julie Rubenstein. Pepperdine out-hit Delaware .336 to .079 on the match and out-blocked them 5.0-3.0.
