LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Tyler Fezzey and Felicia Marshall led the Titans with nine kills each, but it wasn't enough as Fordham defeated Cal State Fullerton 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-23) Saturday afternoon to close out the Rebel Challenge inside Cox Pavilion.
Marshall nearly notched a double-double as she finished with nine digs in addition to her nine kills. Madeline Schneider contributed with eight kills and seven digs.
Neena Dimas led all players with 16 digs to go along with a couple of service aces, while Coutney Mueller led Fullerton with 22 assists and came through with six digs. Nastassja Bowman produced 14 assists and Summer Kerins provided two block assists.
It just wasn't Fullerton's day, as Fordham was a few steps ahead from the beginning. However, after being handily defeated in the opening set, the Titans proved they weren't overmatched, as they dropped the second set by five and the third set by just two points.
Fullerton closes out its season long seven-match road swing with a 4-3 mark and it'll return home to take part in the Titan Tournament next weekend. The Titans will host San Francisco Friday at 7 pm PT and Idaho, Saturday at 2 pm PT to close out non-conference play.
