Titans Host UCR Saturday in Final Match of Homestand

Cal State Fullerton enters the week in a three-way tie for fourth in the Big West Conference standings with UC Davis and Long Beach State. The Titans will host UC Riverside (6-18, 0-11 Big West) at 7 p.m., Saturday at Titan Gym.

Fullerton finished last weekend with a record of 1-1, suffering a four-set loss to UC Davis on Friday, before rebounding with a five-set victory over Pacific on Saturday.

Inside the Numbers: Cal State Fullerton has won its last 15 matches against UC Riverside - the longest winning streak the Titans hold against a Big West opponent...along with UC Davis, UC Riverside is the only other school in the Big West Conference that the Titans hold advantages in all-time overall and conference wins...UC Riverside is winless in Big West play, and the Highlanders visit Titan Gym on an 11-match losing streak...the Highlanders have won just once at Titan Gym, a five-set victory on Oct. 28, 2004, and that was also the last time UCR defeated Fullerton...the Highlanders' 1.34 service aces per set rank second in the Big West...the Titans have swept the season series with UCR for seven consecutive years.

Cal State Fullerton won its second match in a row, needing just four sets to overpower UC Riverside, 3-1 (25-18, 22-25, 25-19, 25-22), at SRC Arena.

For the Titans, it was their second straight Big West Conference victory on the road as reigning Conference Player of the Week Kayla Neto provided a 21-kill, 14-dig performance. Bre Moreland added 14 digs, 10 kills and two service aces, while Leah Best fell just one shy of matching her career high with 11 kills while hitting at a clip of .556. The Titan offense attacked at a season-best clip of .306, while Julie Consani (28 assists) and Kaylynne Taeatafa (17 assists) combined to run the attack. Gabrielle Dewberry led the CSF defense with 16 digs, while Devin Ulmer chipped in 13. UC Riverside hit at a clip of .242 led by Ashley Cox's match-high 23 kills and Emily Borges' 52 assists.

NOTES FROM LAST WEEK
• Against Pacific last Saturday, Cal State Fullerton won the first two sets in a match for the first time since Sept. 14 vs. Brown…in 2012, Fullerton is an undefeated 6-0 after winning the first two sets…Cal State Fullerton is 4-4 in five-set matches this season.
