Titans Post Dual Match Win Over Point Loma in ITA Regionals Tune Up

SAN DIEGO, CA - The Cal State Fullerton women's tennis team prepared for this weekend's ITA West Regionals with a 4-2 dual match victory over host Point Loma on Wednesday afternoon in San Diego.

The Titans grabbed an early lead by taking two out of three hotly-contested doubles matches to claim the doubles point and lead 1-0. Shelly Injejikian and Cheyenne Inglis posted an 8-4 win over Leanne Milliken and Michelle Craig at the No. 2 spot while Karina Akhmedova and Jerusha Cruz won at the No. 3 spot, 8-6, over Taryn Zimmer and Brittany Hall.

Fullerton then went on to take four out of the six singles matches to claim victory.

Freshmen Ashley Litchfield and Akhmedova won at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, while Cruz and Brandy Andrews also posted singles wins on the day.

Cal State Fullerton remains in San Diego to participate in the ITA West Regionals co-hosted by San Diego State and the University of San Diego beginning on Thursday morning and running throughout the weekend.
