FULLERTON, Calif. – Due to the weather, the match between the Titans and the Lions will be rescheduled and replayed later this season, the date is yet to be announced.
Cal State Fullerton (3-2) were facing Loyola Marymount University (2-3) this Thursday.
Hoping to beat the expected rain, both teams agreed on starting with the singles matches first.
The Lions started strong and were able to pick up three early two-set wins.
Jadie Acidera gave the Titans some hope with a 6-4,6-0 win which would have been her seventh straight win in singles and the sixth one in dual matches.
Eira Tobrand and Luxizi Meng were able to split it in their respective match. They were both battling in the third set when the weather decided to change.
Lightnings and rain led the umpires and coaches to the decision of stopping the match.
As the match was cancelled, none of the results of the day counts for the team or any athlete individually.
This is the second dual match-up that the Titans had to postpone due to inclement weather this season.
The Titans will be back in action against Azusa Pacific next Wednesday, Feb. 27th at 2pm P.T. The Titans will take on the Cougars here at home, at the Titans Tennis Courts.
