FULLERTON, Calif. – The Titans won five singles matches this Sunday to wrap up the first ever CSUF Spring Invite.
The Titans bounced back perfectly after losing their first three matches of the day in doubles against Denver.
Caisey-Lee Emery was the first Titan to play her singles match. She showed a strong a performance and showed the way for her teammates as she won 6-0, 6-2 against Georgia Townsend of University of Pacific.
After winning 6-2, 6-2 yesterday, Eira Tobrand did not waste time this Sunday and won her game in two sets again 6-1, 6-0 as she was facing Deniza Marcinkevica of Fresno State University.
Jadie Acidera also finished her game quickly with a score of 6-0,6-2 as she was playing against Fresno State's Katya Tabachnik.
Luxizi Meng was also in a rush as she finished her game quickly taking the 6-1,6-3 victory.
After Petra Such's incredible comeback yesterday, Taylor Valenzuela did just the same as she was down one set and found a way to win the two following sets to take the win in the last match of the weekend.
The Titans compiled a total of three wins in doubles matches and eight wins in singles matches.
Eira Tobrand had an impressive weekend with two wins in singles play. She easily beat both opponent in two sets allowing them to score a total of only 5 games.
Tiani Jadulang also had a good weekend picking up a win in doubles play as she was paired with a University of Pacific athlete. She was also able to get a win in singles later the same day.
The CSUF Spring Invite was the last tournament play of the 2018-19 season. The team will now compete in dual matches starting this Wednesday until the end of the year.
The Titans will be back in action Wednesday, 23rd at 1:30pm at the Titans Courts. They will face UC San Diego at home in the season opener.
