Titans Struggle in Loss to Hawai’i

FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Hawai'i on Wednesday afternoon at the Titan Tennis Courts.

With the loss, Fullerton falls to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in Big West Conference play as the Titans have lost three consecutive matches.

The Rainbow Wahine (2-5, 1-1 Big West) scored five wins in singles play with freshman Alexis Valenzuela recording the only victory for Fullerton.

At the No. 2 spot in the lineup, Valenzuela (2-3) defeated Xenia Suworowa, 6-0, 7-5.

In addition, the Fullerton team of Rebekkah Ermac and Jessica Pepa defeated Kelsey Daguio and Martina Kostalova, 8-3, in No. 3 doubles play, but the Titans could not record the doubles point with losses at the top of the lineup.

Cal State Fullerton returns to action at Loyola Marymount on Sunday.
