FULLERTON, CA - The Cal State Fullerton softball team's contest with long-time rival and top-ranked UCLA scheduled for Wednesday (Feb. 16) has been postponed due to the threat of rain scheduled to hit the area.
Wednesday's forecast calls for rain all day with a 60 percent chance of showers at game time. Attempts will be made to reschedule the contest to a later date, but the two teams are already scheduled to meet on March 12 in Lakewood, CA as part of the Long Beach Marriott Invitational at Mayfair Park.
The Titans (2-3 overall in 2011) now have a long layoff until taking the field on Feb. 25 as part of the Cathedral City Classic in Cathedral City, CA. Fullerton opens on Friday against No. 10 Washington and Fordham beginning at 6 p.m.
Saturday's schedule features only a single game against Indiana at 5:30 p.m. before the Titans take on Syracuse and Long Island on Sunday (Feb. 27) at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
