Position: Volunteer Assistant Coach (1st Season)

April Valdez-Frazier, who served under first-year head coach Kelly Ford at Mt. San Antonio College as an assistant pitching coach for two seasons, joins the Titans as an volunteer assistant coach for the 2013 campaign.

During her tenure at Mt. SAC, Valdez-Frazier help lead the Mounties to two conference championships (2007 and 08) and a state championship in 2007. Prior to her time at Mt. SAC, Valdez-Frazier played two seasons in the Professional Softball League for the Arizona Heat (2006) and Akron Racers (2007).

A 2004 graduate from the University of Oklahoma, Valdez-Frazier played two seasons under head coach Patty Gasso, guiding the Sooners to two Women’s College World Series appearances as a pitcher and utility player. She finished her Sooner career with a .237 batting average and 28 RBI to go along with a 2.27 ERA and 2-1 record.

Before arriving in Norman, Okla., Valdez-Frazier transferred from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois earning first team All-Conference USA honors while also leading the Blue Demons to a Conference USA championship in 2002. 

Valdez-Frazier and her husband Alex, who played in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization for five seasons, have two children, Aleida 9, and Logan 2.
