Cal State Fullerton goalkeeper Karen Bardsley and the England Women's U21 National Team finished third at the 2005 Nordic Cup in Sweden, defeating Germany 4-3 on penalty kicks on Tuesday, July 26, in Saffle, Sweden.

The fourth and fifth penalties were all scored to leave it 3-3, meaning it went to sudden death.

England finished 2-1 in pool play, defeating Finland (2-0) and host Sweden (2-1) while falling to Norway (1-0).
