FULLERTON, CA -- - Cal State Fullerton junior defender Marlene Sandoval and redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Karen Bardsley will represent the Titans on the international stage at the 2005 Algarve Cup in Algarve, Portugal, on March 3-20, 2005.
Sandoval has competed the last two summers for the national team, helping the side in its quest to qualify for the 2003 Women's World Cup and competing in the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
Sandoval was a first team All-Big West Conference selection in 2004 and finished the season with a goal and an assist. She earned second team honors as a sophomore and honorable mention all-conference honors as a freshman.
Bardsley, who was also called up with the England Women's National Team for a Feb. 17 international friendly against Italy (England won, 4-1), previously spent the summer of 2003 with the England U-19 National Team, playing all 360 minutes in net and helping her side to a semifinal berth in the UEFA Women's U-19 Championships in Germany.
She was also called up for two international friendlies against Australia and Germany in August of that same year.
