Fullerton Falls Short at Riverside

Box Score

RIVERSIDE, Calif.– The early goal by UC Riverside's Quinley Quezada left the Titans unable to answer back.  Riverside improved to 6-7-3 overall on the season and 3-0 in conference play.  Fullerton falls to 8-3-2 overall and 1-1 in conference.

UC Riverside kept the momentum on their side after Quezada's penalty kick resulted in a goal in the 4th minute of play.

"Today we played a very motivated and organized UC Riverside team," said head coach Demian Brown. "Giving up a goal as early as we did and having to chase the game really hurt us.  Right now, the idea is to get ourselves organized and refocused for Sunday's game against Long Beach State."

This is the first time this season the Titans have been shutout.

The Highlanders led shots 7-6 for the night.  Riverside also led in fouls, 22-7.

Senior Kaycee Hoover led the Titans in shot Thursday night with two, and Senior Morgan Bertsch recorded two saves for the match.

The Titans look to regroup and get ready for another conference matchup at George Allen Field as they take on Long Beach State, Sunday at 6:00 p.m. PT.
