Pehanich Takes Over Helm of La Verne Women's Soccer
FULLERTON, Calif. -- Cal State Fullerton assistant women's soccer coach Lauryn Pehanich has resigned her position with the Titans and has been announced as the head women's soccer coach at the University of La Verne.
A four-year starter in the midfield as a player for Fullerton from 2003-06, Pehanich completed her fifth season on the bench for the Titans in 2012, helping them to the program's sixth Big West Conference regular season title and a spot in the conference tournament championship match. She takes over a Leopards' squad that finished 4-11-2 overall last season.
Pehanich was a three-time All-Big West selection with Cal State Fullerton as a player, starting all 73 matches in her career until a knee injury cut short her senior season after 11 matches. Following the 2012 season, she ranks eighth on the school's career points list (46), tied for eighth in goals scored (17), tied for third in game-winning goals (6), tied for ninth in assists (12), eighth in shots (108), and seventh in games started (73).
A 2007 graduate of Cal State Fullerton with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology, she also received her master's in sport psychology from the university in 2010.
