FULLERTON, Calif. – Following a three-month break the Cal State Fullerton women's golf team returns to the links Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 12-13) with the Battle at the Rock tournament hosted by UC Riverside at the Oak Quarry Golf Course.
The Course: Oak Quarry is a 18-hole, par-72 course, designed by Dr. Gil Morgan/Schmidt Curley Designs. The CGCOA's 2011 Course of the Year winds through the picturesque jagged terrain of the historical Jensen Quarry. Since opening in 2000, this course has received many awards including "Best Course Inland Southern California," "Hole #14 rated Best Par 3 in Southern California," and "Hole #4 Prettiest Par 4."
Oak Quarry offers the finest playing surfaces with greens in Pennlinks Bentgrass and fairways and roughs in 419 Hybrid Bermuda.
The Field: Fullerton is one of 14 teams competing along with Cal State Bakersfield, CSUN, Grand Canyon, Hawaii, Montana, Montana State, NAU, Nevada, San Francisco, Stetson, UC Davis, Wyoming, and host UC Riverside.
Last Time on the Green: The Titans finished tied for 7th place with a 45-over par 909 at the UCI Invitational. Brittany Farrell led the Titans individually with a tied for 10th place finish at 4-over par 220. Farrell finished off the tournament in round three with a 2-over par 74.
