FULLERTON, CA - Cal State Fullerton senior forward Toni Thomas was named to the Big West Conference All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of the league's postseason event.
Thomas becomes only the second Titan women's basketball player to earn two spots on the all-tournament team in her career, joining Eugenia Miller-Rycraw, who was named to the tournament squad in 1989 and 1991. Thomas earned her first all-tournament honor as a sophomore in 2007.
The senior from San Bernardino helped sixth-seeded Cal State Fullerton into the tournament's semifinals for the second time in three seasons before falling to top seed and eventual tournament champion UC Santa Barbara. It was the seventh all-time appearance for the Titans in the tournament semifinals.
For the tournament, Thomas averaged 14.0 ppg and 8.3 rpg while shooting 41 percent from the field and making 14-of-17 from the line. She scored a team-high 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the semifinal tilt against the Gauchos and added 17 points and eight rebounds while shooting 43 percent from the field in the Titans' opening round win over UC Irvine.
She ranked tied for fifth in scoring for the tournament and tied for fourth in rebounding.
Thomas, the first four-time All-Big West Conference honoree in school history, finished her collegiate career as one of the most prolific players to ever don a Fullerton uniform, scoring 1,786 points and grabbing 897 career rebounds to rank second all-time on both lists.
