EUGENE, OR - Oregon's Taylor Lilley scored a game-high 22 points and led a group of seven players in double figures to lift the host Ducks to a 117-69 victory over Cal State Fullerton to conclude the opening day of action at the 2009 World Vision Invitational on Friday night in Eugene, Ore.
The loss dropped the Titans to 2-2 overall on the season while Oregon remained unbeaten, moving its mark to a perfect 4-0 overall to start the 2009-10 season.
Junior Lyndsey Grove led Fullerton with a season-high 20 points and was joined in double figures by sophomore Megan Richardson, who reached double figures for the 10th consecutive game dating back to last season with 11 points on the night despite shooting just 2-of-14 from the floor.
Junior Jenna Breite added 12 rebounds to go with eight points in the loss, but the Titans could not overcome a difficult shooting night from the floor, hitting just 24.7 percent of their shots for the game.
The Ducks, meanwhile, seemingly couldn't miss as they hit on 49.4 percent for the game, including a 53 percent clip in the first half en route to a 56-28 halftime lead. Amanda Johnson finished with a double-double for Oregon with 13 points and a game-high 16 rebounds as four of the Ducks' five starters finished in double figures.
Cal State Fullerton continues play in the tournament on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. as the Titans take on Portland State in the first game of the day. The Vikings (2-3) also lost their tournament opener, 75-51, to Wisconsin (4-1) earlier in the day.
