Venegas Gets NASL Game Winner

May 14, 2012

Minneapolis, MN - Former Cal State Fullerton forward Kevin Venegas scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory for the Minnesota Stars of the NASL over the Carolina RailHawks in front of 2,168 in attendance Saturday night to help his team stay unbeaten.

It was his first professional goal. He received a pass on the left flank from Martin Nunez, and with his trademark step over, he cut inside and unleashed a right footed blast that caught the goalkeeper wrong footed and settled in the top right corner of the goal.

Venegas won All-Big West Conference first-team honors for the Titans in 2010 and 2011 and led the team in scoring.
