Titans Finish in Ninth

Mission Viejo, Calif. - John Chin was the only golfer under par and his 7-stroke victory Tuesday led UC Irvine to its third title in four years at the Big West Conference Men's Golf Championships at Mission Viejo Country Club.

Chin shot 209 and the Anteaters shot 288 - 288 -- 297 = 873 to win by 17 strokes over runnerup Pacific (890). Trailing were Long Beach State at 895 followed by UC Santa Barbara (897), Cal State Northridge (903), UC Davis (910), UC Riverside (911), Cal Poly (925) and Cal State Fullerton (929). Par is 72.

Jacob Golembiewski led Fullerton with a score of 225 (77, 74, 74) followed by Dakota Duerr (234), Nick Ellis (235), Scott Rubzin (237) and John San Juan (240
