Titans Tied For Sixth After Round One
SIMI VALLEY, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's golf finished day one at the Bill Cullum Invitational at Wood Ranch Golf Club Monday tied for seventh at 3-over par 291.
The Titans are just two strokes behind four teams that are tied for third place and are just 12 strokes off of the leader, UC Santa Barbara.
Martin Manalo is competing as individual in the Bill Cullum invitational, meaning his score does not count towards the team. Manalo, however, is leading the Titans with a score of 2-under par 70 which is tied for eighth overall after day one.
Matt Wilson leads the Titans team individually with a score of 1-under par 71 to put him tied for 14th after round one. Wilson shot a 1-under on the first nine holes before finishing with an even at par score on the back nine. Wilson is just five shots behind the individually leader, Nick Swanson from Santa Barbara who has a score of 66.
First year transfer Derek Castillo is tied for 22nd after day one with an even at par 72. Castillo finished both the front and back nine with a score of 36. Mark Cobey is third on the Titans team individually with a 1-over par 73 which has him tied for 36th.
CJ Coleman is tied for 51st with a score of 3-over par 75. Coleman shot a 1-over par on the front nine before shooting a 2-over par on the back nine. Freshman Dalton Daniel is tied for 63rd place with a 4-over par 76.
Fullerton returns to the green tomorrow for the final two rounds of the Bill Cullum Invitational at the Wood Ranch Golf Club.
