FULLERTON, Calif.. --- The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team returns to the links for the spring portion of its schedule, hosting the seventh-annual Folino Invitational at Industry Hills Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday.

THE COURSE: The two-day event will be contested at the Industry Hills Golf Club, playing at 7,211 yards and par-72 for the 54-hole event. Play begins Monday with a shotgun start set for 7:30 a.m. for the first and second rounds. The third and final round gets underway Tuesday with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.

THE FIELD: The host Titans will welcome Boise State, CSU Bakersfield, CSUN, University of La Verne, Long Beach State, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara and the University of British Columbia.

LAST TIME OUT: Cal State Fullerton finished 22nd overall at the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic hosted by the University of Hawai'I on Nov. 6 to conclude the fall schedule.

The Titans shot a 7-over 291 in Sunday's third and final round to finish at 34-over for the tournament. Clemson took the overall team title as it recorded a 26-under 826, one stroke better than runner-up Georgia and two strokes ahead of LSU. Oklahoma (-18) and South Carolina (-12) rounded out the top five.

Mark Cobey posted the Titans best round of the day as he shot a 1-under 70. He finished the tournament at 5-over, which tied for 60th place along with freshman Ty Stites, who shot a 2-over 73 on Sunday.

FOLINO INVITATIONAL HISTORY: Cal State Fullerton hosts the Folino Invitational for the seventh time this year. The Titans have claimed one team tournament title and one individual title; both of which came in 2014. The Titans posted a 1-under 863 to take the team title and set the team scoring record, which still stands. Mark Anguiano recorded a tournament record 12-under 204 in 2014 to take the individual title. Overall, Long Beach State is the only team to win multiple Folino Invitational team titles, winning the event back-to-back in 2012-13. On the individual side, Sacramento State has had the most medalists (3). They earned co-medalist honors in 2013 and had two golfers claim co-medalist honors in 2015 along with Ty Travis of Boise State.

Samford claimed the 2016 team title with a 10-over 874 whlie Daniel Chian of Long Beach earned medalist honors with a 8-under 208.


-Matt Murphy placed in a tie for third place at the 2016 Folino Invitational, carding a 2-over 218.
-Four current Titans placed in the top-20 of last year's Folino Invitatinal: Murphy (t3rd), Martin Manalo (t12th), Jack Ireland (t19th) and Matt Wilson (t19th).
-C.J. Coleman enters the spring as the Titans leader in scoring average (72.00) in two tournaments played. Wilson is a shade behind at 72.08 while playing all four tournaments and 12 rounds in the fall.
-Coleman's 7-under 209 at the Bill Cullum Invitational was the best score by a Titans golfer during the fall season.
