Fullerton, Calif. - Steve Jurich, a 6-foot-7, 230-pound power forward from Scottsdale Community College in Arizona, has enrolled at Cal State Fullerton and will be eligible for the 2010-11 men's basketball season.
The late-arriving junior-to-be averaged 12.1 rebounds to lead the Arizona Community College Athletic Association in 2009-10 and is 16.0 points per game scoring average was ninth best. He was a first-team selection to the ACCAC team and the all-regional team and was a second-team All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association. He averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds as a freshman for the Fighting Artichokes.
"We really needed someone with size," said Fullerton Coach Bob Burton of his latest scholarship player. "He played in some pickup games with our other players and they were impressed. He can shoot it and set picks and play defense. He's smart. He's a great late addition."
Jurich attended Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale and went to Air Force prep school before changing career paths.
Redshirt junior center Sean Williams, who would not have been eligible to play again this season for the Titans due to academic shortcomings, has left the university.
